Who Created Stocket Anyway?

Stocket is powered by Social Voucher, a talented team of e-commerce, augmented reality and mobile gaming experts focused on reinventing the way that people shop on mobile devices.

The Social Voucher Story

Social Voucher got its start in 2013 as a social couponing app, but our innovative team was looking to reinvent the mobile shopping experience in more ways than one. The “aha” moment came when we realized that people who play mobile games also shop on their phones, so how awesome would it be to combine the two?

Leveraging the power of social behavior and peer-to-peer influence to spread coupons and deals, Social Voucher evolved into the game-commerce app that you now know as Stocket. A hybrid of mobile gaming and e-commerce, Stocket introduces an innovative way to discover trending products, shop, and save and have fun- all while playing an immersive game.

In 2014 Social Voucher acquired the talent and augmented reality technology of Wisconsin-based ARrival Labs. At this time Stocket’s augmented reality features are still very much in stealth mode, but as we approach our launch we will begin to reveal how the AR features will be used to reward players.

The Social Voucher Team

Social Voucher was founded by Gerald C. Parker, an Internet visionary best known for co-founding Inktomi Corporation. With more than 40 years of experience in the development, funding and management of successful companies, Gerry is very excited about what Stocket has to offer. “When you can take something that millions of people are doing and make it more fun and economical at the same time, you’ve got a winner,” said Parker.

The technology team is led by Eric Weiss, a pioneer in the animation and augmented reality space who has worked as an animator on blockbuster films for Sony Pictures, designed video games as a lead artist for Electronic Arts, and founded multiple tech startups that have seen successful exits (including ARrival Labs).

The glue who holds our development team’s synergy together is Guillaume Riviere, a software engineering manager with over 14 years of experience in the digital industry.

Our team also includes intellectual coders, UX/UI ninjas, and creative geniuses. To learn more about the Social Voucher/Stocket team click here
